The thousand and one objects that we selected for our personal space have something to say to us, but we pay them no heed: they play with the light as if to attract our attention. (...) Our vanity make us shut our eyes to everything that is obvious and ordinary. (...) Photography helped me discover anew first a leaf, then a whole tree, then the landscape surrounding it, and finally the person who comes to converse with the tree or to rest in its shade.
