Chema Madoz's entire body of work is devoted to questions arising out of the representation of reality. At the dawn of the digital age he modifies, not the image, but the material object itself, ending up with photographic modulations of visual reality. With his strange settings, he draws us into a game where reality flexes within contestation and investigation. Using media belonging to representational tradition, he overthrows the Cartesian optics that underlie it.
