The international group exhibition entitled "Archaeologies", curated by John Stathatos, addresses photography and archaeology as two systems for recapturing the past and for classifying certain aspects of the world: both these systems, however, based as they are on the reading and interpretation of relics, remain at the mercy of subjective interpretation. As the curator notes, each generation seeks - and inevitably finds - confirmation of what it considers important in the past.
