Subsidised housing in the centre of Athens, now derelict. Modern ruins, exorcised and rejected by the city, their sole tenants a handful of immigrants. Io Paschou transfigures them with her eye, captivated by the play of light on the tumbledown surfaces, whose volumes are transmuted like those of venerable antiquities. Old or new, however, as Yannick Vigouroux observes, "Mediterranean ruins seem to refuse to accommodate the everyday life of their occupants".
